Three batsmen who can replace Prithu Baskota place in the World Cup Cricket League-2 Tri-Series
Nepali national cricket team batsman Prithu Baskota has decided not to play in the World Cup Cricket League-2 triangular ODI series in Spain due to personal reasons. This information has been given by Cricket Association of Nepal CAN from Twitter.
Nepal, Namibia and Scotland will play the series in the third week of July. Prithu’s name was also included in the preliminary squad for the series. However, he told CAN that he would not be available for the series.
Prithvi Baskota is currently in the United States. He said that he could not attend the series as it was difficult to return immediately. In Prithu’s absence, the Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) can now call another player for closed training.
Rohit Poudel
Rohit Kumar Poudel has been out of the team for some time now. Although he started a good international cricket career for Nepal, he has been out of the team lately. Rohit has not been called up for the one-day series. Now that Prithu has withdrawn his name, he can make a place in the team.
Due to Corona, this time CAN is sending a more member team to Spain. It can also benefit Rohit. He is also a part-time bowler.
Rohit has played 5 ODIs and 11 T20I matches for Nepal. The 18-year-old has even scored a half-century in ODIs.
Subash Khakurel
Experienced wicketkeeper / batsman Subash Khakurel has also not been included in the preliminary squad. However, Prithu’s absence CAN may be call him to a closed-door training.
Subash is not able to make a place in the team due to bad performance in domestic cricket. However, once again the team can trust him.
Subash had a great start to his cricket career. He has played eight T20s and five ODIs for Nepal. Subash has scored half-centuries in both T20 and ODI formats.
Lokesh Bam
Young batsman Lokesh Bam may also get a chance in close training in Prithu’s place. He is known as an aggressive batsman. Lokesh has been consistently performing well in domestic competitions.
Being ablity to hit long shots in the lower order, he can be a suitable option in place of Prithu. Lokesh has not made his debut in international cricket.
