Group B teams Ireland and the UAE have booked their places in the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier A.
Ireland reached the semi-finals by defeating Germany by seven wickets in 13.1 overs. Ireland boosted their net run-rate (NRR) by achieving their winning target and qualified as group toppers. Germany scored in double digits with only two batsmen and were restricted to 107/5.
UAE reached the semi-finals despite losing their last group match by two runs to Bahrain in a thriller. Both the teams had four points each in the points table, even after this UAE was able to move ahead on a better NRR.
Ireland also had four points but topped the group with an NRR of +0.991. While UAE (+0.661) and Bahrain (+0.240) finished second and third respectively.
