CAN Has Postponed Nepal Cricket Team Training

Cricket Association of Nepal ( CAN ) has postponed the close camp of nepali national cricket team . Nepal’s training will also be suspended after the postponement of the World Cup League 2 in Spain in July, which includes Scotland and Namibia.

The ICC has decided to postpone the series due to restrictions on coaching and travel in Namibia. The series will now take place in July 2022.

Earlier, the series between Nepal, Oman and the United States scheduled for March in Oman has also been postponed due to Corona.

CAN president Chand that there was a proposal to hold the Oman series in September. But he said no decision had been made. “It has been proposed to hold the Oman series in September but no decision has been taken,” Chand said.

However, Players will continue to train in small groups following Covid protocols at TU grounds under the supervision of Head coach DAV Whatmore and physio Vikram Nyaupane.

If the series is confirmed in September, Nepal will start training again after some time.

With no series or training left, head coach Dave Whatmore’s future is in doubt. Under Whatmore’s training, Nepal played a T20 triangular series in April. But he has not been able to play 50 overs cricket.

Chand said that Whatmore would not stay here if Nepal did not have any game. He said that he would discuss the matter and move forward.

Looking at the current situation, the next series to be played by Nepal is only in February 2022.
