Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is currently in Kathmandu to participate in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) T20 tournament. Dhawan is representing the Karnali Yaks in the league. In his first game, the veteran cricketer scored 14 runs, hitting 3 fours before being dismissed by Canada’s Harsh Thakar.
Batting first, Karnali Yaks posted a total of 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Nepal’s young allrounder Gulshan Jha top-scored with 36 runs, followed by Arjun Gharti with 33 and captain Sompal Kami with 29 runs.
In response, Janakpur Bolts comfortably chased down the target in just 15.1 overs. Their captain, Anil Shah, played a captain’s innings, scoring 62 runs, while his opening partner, Asif Sheikh, contributed 36 runs. Lahiru Milantha, the Man of the Match from the previous game, added 24 runs to secure Janakpur’s victory.
