Australia vs India T20I: Hazlewood’s early blows to India and Marsh’s innings helped Australia easy win

0

Australia chased down Indiaโ€™s modest total of 125 to clinch a comfortable 4-wicket win in the 2nd T20I clash. After Josh Hazlewoodโ€™s outstanding spell set the tone early in the game. Australiaโ€™s batting lineup showed composure and control to seal the chase with an over to spare. Australia chase 125 runs in 13.2 overs with loss of 6 wickets.

Indiaโ€™s First Innings: A Glimmer Amid Collapse

India elected to bat first. Their hopes rested heavily on young opener Abhishek Sharma, who produced a feather-ruffling knock of 68 off 37 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes.

But beyond that roar of resistance, the batting line-up simply couldnโ€™t handle the pressure. The top order fell succumbing to early strikes, and India were bowled out for 125 in 18.4 overs.

On the Australian side, the new ball did most of the damage. Josh Hazlewood was magnificent โ€” claiming 3 for 13 in his four overs, hitting the Indian top-order where it hurt most.

Support came from Xavier Bartlett (2 wickets) and Nathan Ellis (2 wickets) who kept the pressure on until Indiaโ€™s innings collapsed

Australiaโ€™s Chase

Chasing 126, Australia launched into the target with a plan and executed it brilliantly. Travis Head got them off to a fast start, scoring 28 off 15 balls.

Then, skipper Mitchell Marsh took the attack on and blazed his way to 46 off 26 balls, including a flurry of boundaries and sixes.

The target never looked beyond grasp. Australia finished at 126/6 in 13.2 overs, wrapping up with ample time to spare.

Australia vs India T20I: Abhishek Sharma Shines, But Hazlewoodโ€™s Spell Stifles India

0

The first innings of the India vs Australia T20I had plenty of action, but it was a mixed outing for Team India. Young opener Abhishek Sharma stood tall amidst the chaos, smashing a brilliant 68 off just 37 balls, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled to keep up.

Abhishekโ€™s innings was full of confidence and flair โ€” 8 boundaries and 2 sixes lit up the crowd as he reached his half-century in style. His aggressive intent gave India early momentum, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals, halting any real partnership from developing.

For Australia, Josh Hazlewood was the game-changer. Bowling with sharp discipline and perfect lengths, he tore through Indiaโ€™s top order, removing Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma in quick succession. Hazlewoodโ€™s fiery spell of 3 for 13 in four overs set the tone and never allowed India to recover.

India were eventually bowled out for 125 in 18.4 overs, a total that looked below par on this surface. Alongside Hazlewood, Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis chipped in with key wickets, ensuring Australia stayed on top throughout the innings.

Despite Abhishek Sharmaโ€™s standout knock, Indiaโ€™s inability to build partnerships cost them dearly. The hosts will now hope their bowlers can pull off something special to stay in the game.

Australia vs India: Rohit is not playing in Sydney Test, Jaspreet Bumrah is the captain of the team

0

The real test of an Indian player in Test cricket is outside India, especially in Australia. And after the Australia tour, the cricket career of many great players got affected. Earlier, the Australian tour has affected the careers of cricketers like MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag. Now Rohit Sharma’s name can also be added to this. Rohit Sharma is in poor form in the Border Gavaskar Trophy but the performance of his other teammates is also not such that the team can win the match. The result of this is that Rohit is not playing the last match of the Test series, the Sydney Test.

Before the match, on Thursday, instead of captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir came to the press conference. His style of answering the questions asked there raised two big questions.

Will captain Rohit Sharma play in the Sydney Test? The answer has been found, Rohit is not playing the Sydney Test.

The second question is – Will Rohit Sharma play Test matches in the future? Is Rohit Sharma’s future in Test cricket in the hands of the coach and selectors? The answer will be found in the future.

Rohit Sharma stats in 2024 Border Gavaskar Trophy

Rohit Sharma did not play the first Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, in that Test India defeated Australia by 295 runs.

Rohit scored 3 runs in the first innings and 6 runs in the second innings of the second Test. Australia won this Test by 10 wickets.

Scored 10 runs in the first innings of the third Test and did not bat in the second innings. This test was drawn.

Rohit Sharma scored 3 runs in the first innings and 9 runs in the second innings of the fourth Test. Australia won this Test by 184 runs.

Austrelia lead by 2-1 in Border-Gavaskar trophy

0

Australia won the fourth Test match played between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) by 184 runs, giving India a 2-1 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

Australia scored a total of 474 runs with significant contributions from their top-order batsmen Sam Konstas, Usman Khwaja, Marnus Labushanhe and Steven Smith. They scored 234 runs in the second innings, giving India a challenging target of 340 runs on the fifth day.

First inning India scored 369 runs with their middle-order batsmen Nitish Kumar Reddy’s century and Washington Sundar’s half-century.

Chasing 340 runs in the second innings, India were bowled out for 155 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 84 runs before getting out. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant could not do anything special from India’s side. Jasprit Bumrah is the most successful bowler in this series so far. Australia’s bowlers dominated the final session on day five and sealed a seven-wicket win.

Pat Cummins and Scott Boland took three wickets each while Nathan Lyon took two.The match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground saw a record spectators attend the MCG over five days.

A controversy erupted over the Decision Review System (DRS) after Jaiswal’s dismissal, which led to a lot of controversy.

Australia captain Pat Cummins played a key role in the win, earning Player of the Match honours for taking six wickets and scoring 100 runs in the match.

The win has put Australia in a strong position to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, needing only a draw in the final Test in Sydney.

India’s chances of reaching the World Test Championship final have diminished, making the upcoming match in Sydney crucial to their campaign.

Boxing Day Test: Will India Keep Their Nerve Against Australia’s Bowling Attack on Day 5?

0

Today is the last day of the fourth match of the Test series between India and Australia, i.e. the Boxing Day Test. Australia’s second innings was reduced to 234 runs. If we add the lead of the first innings, then India will have to score 340 runs to win. And to draw the match, India will have to play the whole day. For this, the batsmen will have to be patient. Considering the form the Indian batsmen are in, this will be a challenge.

Indian batsmen will have to save their wickets from Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon throughout the day. At the same time, if they get a chance in the last session of the game, they can try to win. But the first goal will be to stay away from defeat.

India has big players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. But no one is in good form. The top 4 batsmen being out of form in such a long Test series is a matter of concern for India.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Yashasvi Jaiswal have scored runs in this series but it remains to be seen how they perform today. In bowling, Jasprit Bumrah is in excellent form and has taken 30 wickets in four Test matches.
