South Africa scored 159 in their first innings. India replied with 189 and gained a 30-run lead. In the second innings, South Africa fought back strongly. Temba Bavuma played an important knock of 55, helping his team reach 153 and setting India a target of 124.
India’s chase went wrong as the batting lineup collapsed under pressure. They were bowled out for only 93. South African spinner Simon Harmer was the match-winner with crucial wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah impressed for India with a brilliant 5/27 in the first innings.
With this win, South Africa take a 1–0 lead in the series.
